I woke this morning to hear the clip clop of horses hooves echoing down the street. Pilgrims on horseback are becoming more common. I wonder where they house them whilst in Santiagoš¤
Daylight is beginning to spread over the town and pilgrimsā excited voices are turning into song. I understand the excitement but itās so annoying for the locals who donāt generally rise until much later. They donāt realise they are walking past peopleāsā houses. I love it though. Itās so good to see people having fun.
Rubbish collection happens every morning too. No wheelie bins like at home. There are dump masters (big bins) in the street, and you take your rubbish out to them instead. So, itās hard to sleep in here with the noise of the rubbish trucks, the sound of pilgrims and the bar across the road. The owner drags every chair and table across the path and takes forever to set up- same at night when he closes. Voices echo and bounce off the stone walls and music is loud. I love everything about it.
Iāve slipped easily into daily life here. I stay out late and get up late. Iāve been eating way too much and had a great time in my favourite tapas bar last night with Patti and her friend Nancy.

I finally caught up with a very tired Shanta afterwards. She has been moving house whilst still running her beautiful little restaurant. Gosh I canāt believe it has been 5 years since I was here last. We all have an extra wrinkle or two but are still the same.
I really like who I am when I am here.

Iām really enjoying your updates thank you
Your last sentence is very powerful and moving for all the right reasons.
